Nut-free, palm-oil free, Kosher certified and suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs alike, there’s a lot that’s good about this devilishly delicious alternative to jam and marmalade when it comes to your morning toast. Not that the party ends with toast: serving suggestions from Royal Warrant holder’s Tiptree include spreading liberally onto pancakes, spooning over waffles, stirring into porridge and even warming gently and pouring over ice cream!

"I find myself compelled to counter what another reviewer has written. I have tried many chocolate spreads and none compare in quality with this one. It is almost impossible to find a chocolate spread which doesn’t contain a large proportion of nuts and oil. This one is an uncomplicated recipe containing mostly chocolate (a generous 60%), cream and butter. It tastes pure and very chocolatey, and it does not have the greasy, pasty texture of the nut-based products which use nuts as a filler because it is cheaper than cocoa. "
