With years of experience in the guest accommodation industry, he knows a thing or two about keeping guests and his team happy. Whether it’s topping up refreshment trays or finding the perfect combination of bed linen, there’s nothing Maître d’Ian can’t help you with.
Out of Eden was founded in 1993 by Ian Hartley and his wife, Janet. Ian had previously spent years in the hotel industry, building up his experience at the Lygon Arms as a student before joining the Savoy Hotel Company management training scheme.
After working at the Berkeley in Knightsbridge, he made his way to Bath and worked as the Deputy Manager of the Royal Crescent Hotel and then co-ran a country house hotel in Cumbria with his parents.
Ian and Janet's passion for providing excellent products and service for their customers is an integral part of what makes Out of Eden, Out of Eden.
Ian's character is one that deserves a place across all our advertising and for many years he’s featured in many forms on items such as the yellow notepads found in every parcel, Christmas cards, flyers and every issue of our product catalogue.
And now, he’s back as Maître d’Ian, here to advise accommodation providers with humour and expertise!
