VisitBritain have been leading the celebrations for English Hospitality Week. Between 13th March and 22nd March, hospitality businesses across the country have been using this fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the diverse hospitality businesses that make English tourism so great.
Not only an opportunity to focus on the individuals, VisitBritain also uses the campaign to engage with wider political matters and key stakeholders, highlighting the economic value that English tourism brings. Here at Out of Eden and in light of English Tourism week, we've been reflecting on the amazing destinations, businesses and cultural events in England that our team have enjoyed over the past year.
Making the most of what English tourism has to offer young families
For Laura, our IT Systems Coordinator, exploring the English countryside and its cities is incredibly important for her family, making wonderful memories and finding hidden treasures on their doorstep! Along with her husband and two children, the past year has seen them enjoy weekends away in Blackpool, Keswick, Sherwood Forest, Wetherby, Manchester, Windsor, London and Carlisle! Particular highlights include the National Fireworks Championships, the National History Museum and the Gruffalo and Stick Man Trails in Whinlatter Forest.
Guy, our Purchasing & Marketing Director, also shared his fond memory of spending a great family holiday in the Yorkshire Dales, near Pateley Bridge. 'The Dales are beautiful and its towns and villages are picturesque'.
Opting for luxurious spa breaks in stunning locations
During a recent weekend in a very misty but tranquil Windermere, Charlotte, our Purchasing Manager, sampled the culinary delights of the Gilpin Spice restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed trying the Pani Puri for the first time. Staying at the Lakeside Hotel in Newby Bridge, she also recharged at the pool and spa.
From winter fog to summer sun, Chloe, our Customer Services & Sales Coordinator, enjoyed two trips away last summer to the Low Wood Bay, Ambleside and Rudding Park, Harrogate. Making the most of the spa experience and delicious food on offer at both locations, she thoroughly enjoyed each visit and it's easy to see why!
Taking cultural mini breaks
Chloe, our Marketing Communications Coordinator, was inspired by her interest in gardening to take a trip to RHS Rosemoor whilst camping in Devon last summer. The rose gardens were in full bloom and the beautiful weather brought out all the wildlife, including a very friendly robin.

Katy, our Purchasing Coordinator, found that her passion for rugby and horse riding took her on two notable weekends away in the past year. More recently, she had an exciting visit down to London to watch the Women's World Cup Final at the Allianz Stadium and last summer, she attended the horse trials at Burghley House in Stamford.

Trips where architecture took a starring role
During sunnier months, Jenny, our Customer Services Team Leader, took a weekend break to Knaresborough with her husband. Found along the beautiful River Nidd, the good weather allowed them to explore the sights, including the iconic railway viaduct.

Spending a wintery weekend in Lincoln, Valentyna, our E-commerce Assistant, was delighted to discover the resident dragons at the castle and walk the cobbled streets, soaking up the historical sights, particularly the ornate buildings.

England has a lot to offer tourists
It's been inspirational to hear about the varied trips and adventures taken by our team in the past year. With ten National Parks (yes, ten!), glorious coastlines, exciting cities and quaint, sleepy villages, England has everything guests need for an amazing holiday by simply hopping on a train, bus or taking a road trip in the car. And, even better, the dog can come too!
