We’re ready to welcome you back to our York store
When we closed the doors on our stores at the end of March, none of us were entirely sure when they would reopen again, although it was always very much our intention that they would.
We are therefore delighted to announce that Out of Eden’s store at Clifton Moor, York will be opening once again from Thursday 9th July.
Initially the store will open using an appointment system to allow hospitality customers to pre-book a meeting with one of our Showroom Representatives to view our range in safety and discuss any requirements or queries they may have about the products.
For everyone’s safety and to uphold social distancing, we are restricting appointments to two persons from any one business or establishment at a time.
Anne Carruthers is our Customer Services Manager: “This will still very much be a ‘personal shopper’ experience and a great chance for customers to have dedicated time with us. We feel this will be a more comfortable and safer experience than one might experience at larger retail outlets.”
“We are also prioritising trade customers when the store opens; they are very much at the heart of Out of Eden and we have seen how badly their businesses have been impacted by the Coronavirus restrictions. We want to do everything we can to help them open once again and provide a warm – and safe – welcome to their guests.”
“We have been working hard throughout the lockdown period to source new cleaning products and personal protective equipment, and one of the first tasks for the team at the York store will be to have these ready for our customers.”
Whilst the vast majority of our product ranges are available to view and buy at the York store, limited storage means that some products may need to be ordered for despatch from our main warehouse and delivery within a few days.
A ‘click and collect’ service is also being arranged for orders placed through the Out of Eden website. This option will be made available in the coming weeks.
“The last months have been a terribly difficult time for everyone and there was naturally the uncertainty of when we would be able to safely open the store once again. Whilst we are happy for so many of our customers to place their orders online, it is always nice to meet in person and help customers find the right products for their hotel, guest house or self-catering accommodation.”
“So many hospitality businesses in the York region have been asking when we will reopen. They themselves are focused on being able to welcome guests from early July and are keen to refresh their letting rooms, as well as having the right housekeeping products for new hygienic cleaning and sanitising regimes.”
“Although the UK Government recently eased restrictions on non-essential retailers opening their doors once again, we made the decision not to rush to open so that we could better prepare to welcome customers back in a manner that is safe and manageable for everyone.”
Our intention is to evaluate the appointment approach at our York store over the coming weeks and your feedback would be greatly appreciated on how you can make the booking, if different times of day would be better or if you would prefer shorter ‘slots’ being made available.
If you are unable to make an appointment at a time which suits you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we shall endeavour to arrange for you to visit at a convenient time in the coming weeks.
